Next Issue Of Guap

After completing those task I felt like ending it off on a feature was not satisfying enough to close off Guap so I decided to do a closing by creating a basis of the next issue of Guap. This was a good idea on my part because before I didn't know where to put my second model and she couldn't really fit in with the previous pages. So creating this last page was the best thing I could of done to add a closing statement and to include my second model in the magazine.

Since my model is the youngest model I have having Guap Speak of the even younger generation would be the most optimal thing I could do. And speaking of the future I thought it would be cool for Guap to speak about the future of the rap industry. One of the things that I find cool about this page is that my model is looking at the Guap logo that is a nice touch. I also made even further adjustments to the page but because I am essentially done with the magazine you will see the adjustments on the actually magazine. Naturally I updated the table of contents as well.

Table of Contents Analysis and Progression

With the table of contents I had to express what was exactly going to be in my magazine. I believe I successfully did so with the table of contents.  And as you can see with the before and after shots while keeping the same layout I drastically changed the visuals. I improved the look of my magazine befitting that of my vision.

Feature Analysis and Progression

With my feature I made it a double paged spread and I continuously updated it. I did that by changing the alignments and spacing of my story and I also changed where the title "Official Will" to be from the right to directly under the photo of my first model. I made the necessary changes for the feature to be in tune with my vision.

Sub Genre research Analysis

At school I interviewed 35 students and made a poll. The poll was on their favorite sub genre of rap out of the 5 options that were given. These 5 options were Mumble Rap, Pop Rap, Trap, Freestyle Rap, and Gangsta Rap.  If I tally the results I get in order

1. Pop Rap = 15 votes
2. Freestyle Rap= 9 votes
3. Mumble Rap= 6 votes
4. Trap= 3 votes
5. Gangsta Rap= 2 votes

After getting these results I deduced that I should make a pie chart for my official magazine.  Below are a pictures of me editing and making the pie chart look better for the official magazine.

As you can see I added the pie chart and progressively made strides in changing the layout to make it look better.

Progression of Cover

As you can see I have vastly improved my cover page. By editing the sub titles, tweaking the text, and by adding a bar code I am drastically improving the quality of the cover from the original draft. The updated cover will be shown with the official Guap Magazine.

Cover of Guap Magazine Draft

I believe this cover to be good. It gets my information across and my third model is front and center but I believe that I can do better and in my next blog I will be showing the progression of me updating the cover image to fit my vision.

Analysis of 3rd Model Photo

I have deduced this to be the photo that I am going to use for my official magazine. My model is looking directly at the camera. It appeals to the rule of thirds and because it is a half body shot the photo should be big enough to fill in enough space to make the magazine fit my image. I will be putting him in the front cover with the logo.

Analysis of 3rd Model Photos

While these 2 pictures appeal to the rule of thirds and are what I'm looking for these two pictures would not be suitable for a cover in my opinion. A cover photo should require a half body shot with him looking directly at the camera but I can potentially use the photos for something else in my magazine.

Analysis of 3rd Model Photos

While both are good photos they don't really fit for what I am looking for in the cover I need a big enough photo of my model to cover up the screen and for him to look directly at the camera so I will not use these photos in the end.

Draft of Feature

William Sharpe Knows what they say in the streets. They say that he'll never make it big. That his decision making is terrible. That he's foolish for making such a brash decision. That he's essentially throwing his life away. Because of his decisions he'll never amount to anything. But William doesn't believe that he's going to take those criticisms and prove them wrong and become the greatest Hip-Hop/ Rap artist that he can be. William has went over and beyond and token the steps to make his dreams become a reality.

William Sharpe loved music and adored Hip-Hop/Rap. When asked who inspired him to become a rapper he replied, "Playboy Cardi definitely. He's my favorite artist of all time and he made me want to pursue this as my livelihood.  If this music gig takes off I hope to meet him one day." Hearing the passion in voice made me ask him what albums did he listen to growing up? he states,  "I listen to multiple albums growing up. Listened to the Carter Albums, 808s and Heartbreak, The life of pablo, so far gone, and more." The artist and albums shaped William to become the Man he is today.
When asked the steps he have gone to achieve his dreams and to become a rapper he replied,"
"The lengths that I have gone to become a rapper is that I found a studio. My brother and I would go down to a studio and invent some beats to rap too. I quit school, and I spend nearly 8-10 hours just inventing things in the studio. I upload my music into streaming services for audience feedback too. As you can see I'm taking this very seriously." William gave everything to pursue his career even his education.
So I asked him Why did he quit school? He explained, Man... I quit school because it just wasn't for me. Cooped up in the classroom and just doing work that won't benefit me in the slightest. All of those hours that could of been put towards my passion was just used for school and that just made me irritated in any way I looked at it. So I left and I never looked back." Leaving school is a rash decision that not many people would take it not many families would support that decision. So I asked William Did anyone support his decision of leaving school?"Nope. No one supported me my parents, my sisters, not a single soul supported me except for my little brother. While the pain of my family members not supporting me still stings I am grateful that at least one person is still there for me.  My little brother comes out to the studio and gives me ideas and does his best to support my dream. I will become a success not only to fulfill my dream and rub it in the haters who doesn't believe in me, But I also want to show my little brother that he can do anything he wants to do and for him not to waste his time and belief on me."
William will now continue his endeavors as an up and coming rapper and hopefully fulfill his dream. The dream of becoming a famous rapper and performing on the big stage proving all of his family and doubters wrong and making his little brother proud. William have put all of his cards in one place and he have a big plate to live up too.

Analysis On Photos of 3rd Model

These 2 photos of my model Quinn prosser I believe to be very good photos. It appeals to the rule of thirds because he's not directly in the center and I have him both smiling and looking serious for the tone of my magazine. The lighting from the sun makes it so that I can't see his shoes so I might scrap these 2 photos.

Model Changes....

It turns out that I was not be able to acquire Randyl for my magazine. So I used an alternative and found 2 other people to fill in the void.  For the upcoming blogs I will write a basic description of the 2 other people that will replace Randyl and I will even provide a picture.

Decision on two logos

Through internal debating with myself I have decided that the first logo would be more suiting for my edition of guap magazine. The overall aesthetic just pleases me more. So out of those two I will end up in choosing the first one. Now with choosing the first one the logo will appear in big letters as the header in the first page and possibly the same way in the last page of the blog.

Development of "Guap Magazine"

Canva logo, Canva Logo free png | PNGFuel

In order to actually do my magazine I have to use the website canva rather then Photoshop. I have to process and edit my pictures/magazine through that website and here's hoping that it will come out in good quality. The website looks easy to navigate so I should not have a hard time developing my magazine through there.

Magazine Idea

With my magazine I envisioned that the three models would be Men. But I could spice it up and have a woman be one of my models. I have a woman model I could use and I feel like she could be a great addition to my version of "Guap Magazine"

Monday, January 13, 2020

Magazine Concept

With my magazine there is a total of 4 pages. I believe that the first page could be the table of contents. The 3 other pages could be about my models and their stories. I feel like that would be an excellent idea.

Updates

I just found my second model. His name is Randyl Dyer a very close friend of mines who is more then willing to be the second model for my magazine. I also found a couple of places where I can photo shoot him to get high quality pictures. I promise that the picture will look better then the ones I sent earlier. I will try to incorporate the rule of thirds and many more elements into the picture to have a better looking result.  Maybe that result will be good enough to officially put that picture in my magazine "Guap Magazine"

Layout of Magazine

For my magazine after adding the picture of my first model whatever picture that will be I will dedicate the 2 pages inside with content. It will be a variety of content being polls, news of albums, and my models goals and inspirations. For the content page I can probably edit my 2nd and 3rd model to be in it. It will be difficult but the way I visualize this blog it looks like it'll be worth it.

For my magazine it will be a total of 4 pages. With black and yellow as the color scheme. The 1st Page is the cover. The second page will be the table of contents. While the last 2 pages will be the most important story which is the feature. This is what my magazine is going to be like as the end product

Magazine Idea

In my four paged magazine I will bring in two more models. If I only have one model the magazine would get bland, boring, and overall uninteresting. So by adding two models I can get more information and add more diversity and variety in my magazine.
